Here’s the video for this card which you can equally watch over at YouTube :D ![]() You can also see great examples of this set watercolored by Kristina Werner and Yana Smakula too :D If watercoloring isn’t your thing then check out Laura Bassen where she gave these balloons some love with Copics and inks :D VIDEO ![]() This set is great for coloring in any medium but I think does suit watercoloring particularly well. I roughly masked the balloons with post-it note before splattering with paint and a solution of Perfect Pearls then die cut the panel with a Stitched Rectangle, mounted it on a Fog card base and accented with sequins. In the main the four colors I used were Daniel Smith quinacridone coral, Schmincke Lemon Yellow, Schmincke May Green and Dahler Rowney phthalo turquoise although I added other colors to these to get deeper shades too. You really can’t see much when you stamp in a clear ink and then white heat emboss on white card so I omitted that bit from the video ) I then taped the piece to a board to prevent warping and colored light layers, drying in between times and then adding more color until I’d got several layers deepening in color on top of one another. I stamped the design in Versamark ink on Arches cold-pressed watercolor card and white heat embossed. The balloons in this set have a nice open area to color and also there’s a lovely script sentiment included too :D All supplies are linked at the end of this post. ![]() I wanted to pick a set with clean lines that would be easy to color and settled on the Birthday Bits set. Watercolor videos are one of the requests I get most often and so I have a video below of some simple watercolored layers.
